Calendar Side Panel
WebsiteThe Calendar side panel is now working properly apart from on the Home Page. Due to the way the software "builds" the Home Page, using the calendar navigation arrows or drop downs to move between months causes the News page to load instead of the Home Page. A new version of the software is due to be released shortly; whether it will resolve this particular irritant remains to be seen.

Move it or lose it!
AdminDo any of the assorted masts, spars etc. formerly languishing on the roof of the garage/maintenance workshop belong to you? If so, please note they have been moved temporarily onto the roof of the container, where they await collection and removal. Any unclaimed items remaining at the end of the month will be disposed of.

Pakefield Coastcam
WebsiteStop Press! Good news. The Coastwatch Station's ADSL link is restored and the webcam back online (22/04/2008).

The Coastwatch Station webcam located in the Old Lighthouse at Pakefield has now been offline since early November last year. I am told that in the course of upgrading the telephone system in the adjacent holiday camp, the station found itself deprived of its ADSL line. Despite all efforts to resolve the matter, this unfortunate situation continues and in the short term there appears little chance of the webcam coming back online. This is the least of it however; the Coastwatch Station is also currently without other more important internet-based services.

F4S success downunder for Lings Honda
Fresh from winning the 2007 Formula 4-stroke Powerboat title in the 150 hp class, RNSYC member David Cowley Jr recently made a guest appearance representing the UK in a similar event in New Zealand. In conditions which according to the press release decimated the fleet, David drove the Honda entry (renamed Lings Honda for the occasion) to second place. To read the full press release, click on the link in the Latest Articles panel.

Orient Express Extra Spring 2008
AdminRead the latest -- Spring -- edition of the Orient Express Extra here online. As well as communications from the Commodore, Treasurer and Vice Commodore (wearing his Training Committee hat), there's a load of information about the season ahead, both on the water and ashore, and some timely reminders about subscriptions, lifejackets (who, by the way, is the under-12 pictured, I mean the one on the left?) and stiletto heels (in the clubhouse that is, not on board .....).

Living in the Past
WebsiteI've just added a new Local History category to the site web links. The first  link in the new category features postcard images of Lowestoft's South Pier & old South Pier Pavilion (destroyed in the Second World War). There are views of the harbour and yacht basin as was, one or two including our clubhouse. If you have similar links you would like to add, just click on Submit Web Link in the Navigation Panel.

WebsiteComments on news items, articles, photos etc. can easily go unnoticed or -- even more easily -- get lost in the passage of time. I have added a new page itemising comments in descending order (most recent on top). To access the page, click on the View Comments link in the Navigation panel. To read a comment in its original context click on the "View comment in context" link below each entry.
