Britain's Most Easterly Yacht Club

The Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club

Founded in 1859, the Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club is housed in a striking Grade 2* Listed building overlooking its own marina.  Situated in the most easterly port in the British Isles with access at all states of the tide and a sheltered haven in all weathers, the RN&SYC has always been popular with visitors from the Continent and UK.

Visitors

Visiting craft are warmly welcomed, as are members from any yacht club visiting the town. Crews of visiting yachts berthed in the Marina become temporary members of the Club with 24-hour access to toilets, showers and laundry.

Accommodation

The Club offers the weary traveller the opportunity to unwind and relax in period style bedrooms, some with en suite or, if having a head for heights, there is the ‘Gods’ with a magnificent view of the coast and promenade from the top of the Club.

Training Courses

The Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club is an accredited RYA Training Centre and offers training courses for power boating, yachting and a range of shore based courses to gain qualifications to increase the practical and theoretical know-ledge of those who want to go to sea either in a professional or amateur capacity. Yacht Racing

Squibs and Broads One Design yachts are among the keelboat and dinghy classes raced at the Club. Our members include past Dragon Gold Cup winners, Squib and Hunter 707 National Champions.   The waters off Lowestoft are ideal for Club and Championship racing and our team of experienced Race Officers have organised many successful regatta and championship events over the years for keelboats and dinghies such as Dragons, Squibs, Javelins, 420s, Lasers and Toppers.
